Sabrina Spellman is a typical seventh-grader with one little secret: she’s half witch, half mortal. She won’t become magically empowered until she’s 16, but when you’re 12 years old, sometimes you could use a little magical boost to get you through the day. When she discovers that it’s possible to “borrow” spells from her teenage aunts Hilda and Zelda, she dips her hand into the Spookie Jar, where ready- made spells are kept atop the fridge. However the spells don’t come with owner’s manuals, so Sabrina inevitably finds herself in over her head. But what’s a young witch to do when her pals or aunts need help? A little of Sabrina’s magic is usually followed by a lot of mayhem, so she keeps her aunts & their Uncle Quigley on their toes trying to keep her safe from her own adventurous nature. It’s often hard to tell who’s watching whom, however.

Although Hilda & Zelda are centuries-old witches in teenagers’ clothing, they are new to Earth, to high school, and to being human, causing new sets of blunders. That’s where Sabrina steps in to lend a hand. Lovable Uncle Quigley is the only mortal who knows about Sabrina’s powers, and since Sabrina’s still “hiccuping” her way through the world of magic, she spends a good deal of time explaining the haphazard results to the other mortals in her life, & the bumbling Harvey feels the same way, but for now, it is a secret they keep to themselves. Just when she feels she has no one to talk to about her magical mishaps, Sabrina returns home to Salem, a one-time warlock who is living his life on Earth in the form of a smart aleck cat. Sabrina & Salem often fight like siblings but when it comes down to it, they bail each other out and when they join forces they are a combination as potent as catnip.
