The lovable and mischievous feline, Felix the Cat is introduced in the early 1900s through a short film called “Feline Follies.” He became the first movie cartoon star -- what with his squat, black body and huge, wide eyes and grin. Soon he also starred as a cartoon character syndicated in over 250 newspapers in a multitude of languages, reaching practically every corner of the globe.

Felix the Cat continuously evolved to become the adorable character we’re fond of today. From an angular Felix, he metamorphosized into the rounder and more pronounced version, with his new personality and new supporting cast. Felix the Cat made history as the very first image to be broadcast over television airwaves and in fact the very first balloon featured in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade. His ‘magic bag of tricks’ never ran out as his full-length film “Felix the Cat, the Movie” which came out in the mid-eighties had its re-run for over 10 years. He also led the way in the field of publishing and licensing, especially after his feature “The Twisted Tales of Felix the Cat” came out in 1996.
